It is often asked, "when is the best time to visit Nepal?"

Nepal is a year round destination, with different offerings during different seasons. For culture, heritage, sightseeing, shopping, golf, and a relaxing getaway, any time of year is rewarding.

You can golf and relax at Gokarna all year round.

From November to March the weather is refreshingly cool in the days, to a pleasant cold at nights.

The best time for lower level trekking and wildlife safaris is from late September to the end of April.

During the late June to end August monsoons, the light has an amazing clarity and the land grows green and lush with astonishing quickness. The golf course is always open, and within an hour of the heaviest rainfall, you can still play.

Because of Nepal's astounding geography, the monsoon is lighter the further west you go, as it breaks on the barrier of mountains. The best time to visit the rain shadow mountain regions of Northwest Nepal and Tibet are during the summer months of June to August. Positioned in the shadow of the great Himalaya, the air is dry and summer skies glow brilliantly against this wild landscape.

This is also a good time for visitors from hot and dry climates, like in India, the Middle East, and South East Asia to escape the heat and enjoy the cooler "air-conditioned" weather in Kathmandu.

There is no snow in the valley, and the bentgrass greens are superb during the winter. October and November are pleasant months and there are some important and colorful festivals to enjoy.
