What an opportunity - The Surya Nepal Masters is just round the corner again.
This only international professional golf tournament in Nepal has been a regular stop on the Amby Valley PGAI Tour for nearly a decade now. The popularity of the tournament being held in Nepal has spread to the extent that this year's field has attracted leading professionals from not just India and Nepal, but other SAARC nations of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan as well.
The Surya Nepal Masters offers an excellent opportunity for young and aspiring amateurs to rub shoulders with the cream of South Asian golfing talent. The pro-am (8 Dec) competition in particular offers a terrific environment. Competitive yet fun filled where golfers have a blast while still soaking in vital golfing tips from professionals.
In addition to the privilege of playing with a professional and the challenge of competing against top amateurs, the day promises to offer a number of other fun incentives including exciting on course prizes and the now famous monster putt prize held during lunch.
The four day Surya Nepal Masters competition promises to be as engrossing as every year. Past champions include some of the biggest names in Asian golf such as thrice Amby Valley PGAI Tour Order of Merit winner Mukesh Kumar; twice Honda-Siel PGA Championship winner Uttam Singh Mundy; '98 Indian Open winner Feroz Ali and defending champion Digvijay Singh, all of whom are regulars on the Asian PGA Tour. In addition to these champions will be a host of other star golfers, promising an educative round of golf to the participating amateur and an excellent golfing treat to other golf lovers in the Himalayan kingdom.
Last but not least, is the unique opportunity to play at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort, considered by those in the business to be one of the prettiest golf courses in this part of the world. The picturesque beauty of the Gokarna course casts a spell of sorts on the golfer, something that not even the occasional jolt delivered by the challenging course can seem to break.
The Surya Nepal Masters again offers a memorable visit to paradise on earth, with a fair share of competitive golf and fun thrown in for good measure.
Definitely an opportunity not to be missed!
