Arriving at Kathmandu Airport

You will need to have filled in your disembarkation card (Address in Nepal: Gokarna Forest Resort, Kathmandu), Visa Forms if required, with one photo. Indians can stand in the line that says Nepalis, but the line that says “Foreigners without visa” is usually shorter – so use this line instead.

After getting your VISA you proceed downstairs – go through the hand baggage X-ray. Get a trolley (on your left side) – and proceed to get your checked in baggage. If you cannot find a trolley, you can actually walk through customs and out of the departure hall, where you’ll often find trolleys lying.

You sometimes need to give in your checked-baggage tag stickers (which are usually on your air-ticket) before proceeding to the customs. Customs is fairly straightforward, they usually just let you through or X-ray one bag on the trolley.

After Customs - walk out of the Arrival hall and look for a driver dressed in grey with a Gokarna Forest Resort board with your name on it. In case you cannot spot the driver waiting for you – please wait on the side for a little while.

If you feel something is amiss, you will find a phone at the Hotel Association desk on the right side just outside the Arrival Hall exit. Call one of these numbers: Resort: 4451212~6 or if there is a problem with those numbers then only call 4450444. In case more help is needed, approach Hyatt or Everest Hotel reps. In the very worst case, take a taxi. Destination is “Gokarna Golf Club at Raj Nikunj Gokarna in Thali village (near Mulpani).

This is also the best time to visit the upper Himalayan regions and Tibet.
